Oftentimes, your cool deck texture can be restored during our Acrylic Color Coat application.   If your texture has a few chips or missing pieces, our installers will patch the missing overlay with polymer cement material applications which will then be textured to mimic the appearance of the surrounding surface.  While an exact match in appearance can be challenging, our experienced installers will provide as close a match as possible.  Once the paint application is applied, the longevity of the surface increases and further delamination of the existing texture is dramatically reduced.

When cool deck texture or other overlays have become extensively damaged or are showing signs of extreme delamination, it is better to resurface instead of repairing. 

For a standard size residential pool deck resurfacing (of 400 square-feet), our procedure will typically last 3 to 5 days.  

After surface preparation, we use a polymer bond coat to prime the existing concrete in preparation for the overlay application.  The  polymer bond coat has a low surface tension, enabling it to penetrate deep into the pores of the existing concrete.  Our overlay material contains a similar polymer, so when it is applied over the primed concrete the two polymers bond with each other, merging the overlay to the concrete.

Yes! Our IR-Reflective Acrylic Color Coat finishes will maintain relatively cool temperatures as compared to almost any option the industry has to offer for concrete resurfacing.

Due to the chemistry of the IR-Reflective paints, a painted surface will reflect a portion of the sun’s electromagnetic spectra (the infrared portion – IR) instead of absorbing it.  The overall affect is that the IR-Reflective surface stays much cooler than one which was painted with a standard mixture (which would instead absorb the infrared portion of the electromagnetic spectrum).
